Richmond sits on the James River, about 100 miles west of Virginia Beach and the Chesapeake Bay, and just 70 miles east of Charlottesville. U. S. News & World Report says Richmond is the only region in America with whitewater rapids running through its downtown district. Hattiesburg-Laurel reaches viewers in eight counties (Covington, Forrest, Jasper, Jones, Lamar, Marion, Perry and Wayne).
